An easy way to learn.

Financial literacy has long been a barrier for many Americans, with the Silent Generation reporting a financial literacy of 55%, down to 43% among Gen Z. The economic stresses of the pandemic have only further emphasized this issue. In 2020, three in 10 lower-income adults reported unemployment, and the average middle class family faced a -2.1% change in household income. Unexpected crises like the pandemic demonstrate why financial literacy is a critical part of individual education, yet the numbers show that not enough is being done. Of the 50 states, only three require high schools to offer and test economics and personal finance classes while 13 require none. While there is progress being made, such as legislation enforcing financial literacy, it is clear that personal financial education in America requires change.
